New Delhi: A former English Cricketer and captain Andrew Strauss on Thursday shared his view on England cricket team’s weak performance in a test series against India.
Andrew Strauss said that “England batsmen are just not good enough to tackle the spin-friendly Indian conditions and gave a weak performance in the fourth test against India.”
After five innings, England crossed the 200-run mark when they managed a total of 205 in 75.5 overs before being bowled out.
Indian bowling attack disturbed the England’s batting order and created trouble for the English batsmen at pitch. Fabulous spin bowling of spinner Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin played a vital role to all out England in low score.
“You can talk about the pitch and about the ball and about anything else, but you have to find a way to score first innings runs and they have got very few to play with,” Andrew Strauss said to the media.
The left handed opener and 44 year old Strauss believe that “England batsmen are losing the battle in their minds as they have been committing the same mistakes which they did in the previous two Test matches.”
England is trailing the four-match series 1-2.
England will play five t20 matches and three one day match against India.
