New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted this morning that he has tested positive for Covid and has isolated himself at home.
“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested,” posted the Chief Minister, who has been campaigning for polls ahead in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Since December 2021, Arvind Kejriwal has been addressing large gatherings in poll-bound states like Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa.
Delhi has been witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases since the last week. The fresh infections in the national capital have been attributed to the Omicron variant of coronavirus.
Delhi on January 3, 20222 registered 4,099 fresh COVID-19 cases and the positivity rate jumped to 6.46 percent.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) will be holding a crucial meeting today to discuss the need for more curbs restrictions in view of the alarming spike in COVID cases.
