New Delhi: The latest report revealed by the State Bank of India (SBI) said that during the ongoing third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, new coronavirus cases in Mumbai appear to be stabilizing, but infections in other cities such as Bengaluru and Pune are increasing.
The report also suggested that the percentage of empty beds has risen in all major cities, demonstrating that India is well-prepared to deal with the current wave of COVID-19.
Dr. Subhash Salunke, Senior Advisor, Public Health Foundation of India, Delhi & National COVID-19 Task Force Member on the SBI’s report on declining COVID-19 said that I do not believe this particular decline in cases is a real decline.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sanjeev Bagai, Chairman, Nephron Clinics said that the “Omicron variant is less lethal than Delta. But we must be careful and not put our guards down, properly track home testing to get real numbers.”
IIT Kanpur professor claimed that the Omicron variant-triggered third wave has reached its peak in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.
