New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global governing body of the game of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference (1909) renamed first as the International Cricket Conference (1965) and then as the International Cricket Council (1989).

The original ICC was formed on June 15, 1909, by representatives from South Africa, Australia, and England. It was headquartered in London.

Globally, the ICC represents 108 members, plays the role of a governor and administrator of cricket, and works with the members to develop the game. It is also responsible for preparing, organizing, and staging all ICC events.

The ICC has changed and developed cricket, especially in preparation for international cricket tournaments, most notably the Cricket World Cup, T20 World Cup, and ICC World Test Championship, and all of them are doing well.

Currently, the ICC is headquartered in Dubai, UAE, and headed by Greg Barclay as Chairman. Geoff Allardice is its CEO and Wasim Khan is the General Manager. At present, its official language is English.
