New Delhi, April 28: The Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court has given its verdict over the actress Jiah Khan’s suicide case in Mumbai on Friday.

The special court judge, A.S. Sayyad, said in his statement that “on the lack of evidence, the court holds Sooraj Pancholi not guilty.”

After the court’s verdict, Bollywood star Sooraj Pancholi made his first statement after being acquitted of the abetment to suicide charge. He wrote on his social media account, “The truth wins. #Godisgreat.”

However, Jiah Khan’s mother, Rabia Khan, is not satisfied with the verdict and intends to approach the high court. “The charge of abetment to suicide has gone, but how did my child die? This was a murder case. I will approach the high court,” said Rabia Khan.

In June 2013, actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her residence in Mumbai. Upon investigation, police found the letter which was written by her, and based on that six-page letter, actor Sooraj Pancholi, the son of the actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, who had been in a relationship with her, was arrested.

Jiah Khan’s mother alleges that her daughter did not commit suicide but was murdered. She filed the case and asked the Bombay High Court for the CBI inquiry. The CBI took over the case and claimed that the letter narrated the intimate relationship, physical abuse, and mental and physical torture. After some investigation, the case was registered with the Special CBI Court in 2012.

However, in his final statement, actor Sooraj Pancholi declined all the accusations that were made in the investigation and chargesheet.
