New Delhi, June 26: The United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) body banned a Mexican boxer, Moises Calleros, for four years before discovering he had died in March, the media reported on Tuesday.

In a statement, it announced Moise’s ban but quickly deleted the embarrassing post after knowing the boxer had passed away three months ago.

“The UKAD has received this information shortly after the publishing of details of the outcome from a case. Unfortunately, UKAD had no information regarding Mr. Calleros’ sad passing at the time of publication and now has removed all details of this case from its channels,” it said.

Calleros tested positive for cocaine in a post-fight drugs test after his fight with British challenger Galay Yafai in April 2023.

The Mexican boxer, who made his debut in 2008, had achieved 37 wins,11 losses, and 1 draw. He was 34 years old when he died.
