Ahmedabad – The Biman Bangladesh Aircraft finally left for its destination after being stranded for 11 hours at the Nagpur airport.
According to a senior official at the Nagpur airport, “Biman Bangladesh arranged for an alternative crew who flew to Nagpur. After that, the stranded flight departed for its destination with the passengers at 10.37 pm on Friday.”
The Biman Bangladesh commercial aircraft that carried over 126 passengers from Muscat to Dhaka made an emergency landing around 11.40 pm in Nagpur as the pilot suffered a mid-air cardiac arrest on Friday.
The plane was near Raipur when it contacted the Kolkata ATC for an emergency landing, and Nagpur was advised as the nearest airport. The co-pilot landed the plane in Nagpur while the pilot was taken to Kingsway hospital.
“The pilot is still in a critical condition,” the official said on Saturday.
The Biman Bangladesh airlines resumed air services with India after the suspension of services during the pandemic.
