NEW DELHI, Sept 22: The Sri Lanka’s election commission announced late on Sunday evening that Mr Anura Dissanayake, 55, has won the presidential elections with 42.31% of the vote, pushing Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to second place.
Mr Dissanayake, who was declared elected after the second round of vote counting, will be sworn-in as the president on Monday, official sources said.
